Getting started with the SAP S/4HANA component

Installation

To use SAP S/4HANA with Semarchy xDI, you need to follow multiple steps:

  • Download official SAP resources.

  • Install SAP resources to the operating system.

  • Install the SAP S/4HANA component in xDI Designer.

  • Install SAP resources to Semarchy xDI.

  • Prepare SAP S/4HANA for use with Semarchy xDI.

Usage

Connect and reverse-engineer

After finishing the installation process, continue in xDI Designer:

  1. Create SAP S/4HANA metadata in Designer.

  2. Follow the reverse engineering process to connect to your SAP S/4HANA data.

Use with SAP S/4HANA structures

The Semarchy xDI SAP S/4HANA Connector can use four types of SAP structures for integration:

Tables

Classic database tables storing SAP data.

IDocs

Documents.

BAPIs/RFCs

Services available to external systems for integration.

DataSources

Read-only structured data intended for reporting purposes.
